A Constant Internet Connection Is Required For Metal Gear Survive, & It Has Microtransactions
Routers at the ready!
Yup, you'll need to make sure your router's fine and dandy if you're planning to play Metal Gear Survive, even in single player.
Konami confirmed this at a recent Metal Gear Survive event, where he also revealed that there's an online store which uses microtransactions.
Similar to games like The Division & Destiny, an internet connection is required to play all of Survive's modes. "Metal Gear Survive's online connectivity requirements were built to support a seamless integration between single player and co - op. This will also enable us to provide ongoing content post - launch" Konami said.
The microtransactions will be in the form of Coins, which is the premium currency for buying boosts amongst other buffs. You're also able to earn coins by playing the game.
In terms of the game's length, Konami brand manager Jennifer Tsang said that you can expect the campaign to take you 15 - 20 to complete. Naturally that figure may vary, depending on your play style.
Konami confirmed more details on Survive's beta - it'll begin today (18th January) and end on 22nd January.
