Could Fumito Ueda Be Teasing A 4th Game With This New Year's Teaser?
What could this mean?
Fumito Ueda, The Last Guardian creator, has posted a teaser which might (or might not) be a teaser for a new game. Those of you who enjoyed Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus, and The Last Guardian should probably start scribbling some notes down.
The 3 games mentioned above were developed by Team Ico, a Sony division led by Fumito Ueda. Part way through The Last Guardian's development, Ueda left Sony to form an independent team called GenDESIGN, which continued to work on the project as Team Ico was dissolved.
GenDESIGN's website has been updated for the New Year; scroll down past the four birds and you'll see the image above. Now, of course this could mean something or nothing. The child-like figure is very similar to Ueda's previous protagonists. There's a long haired figure in GenDESIGN's logo, and there's a similar character in the "and more" block of the Works section:
There's what seems to be a humongous paw in the right of the image; both Shadow Of The Colossus and The Last Guardian had huge majestic beasts, so it's not out of the question to link those two games to this image.
Going back to the 4 birds, could they be indicating a 4th game? I could be grabbing at straws, but hey you never know! Ueda is fond of bird and feather motifs so you really look into it, it could be giving us a subtle hint about another title.
What do you think? Is this something or nothing? We'll just have to wait and see!
