Only 1 Player Can Keep Their Story Progress In Far Cry 5 Co-op - Rumour
Who will make progress and who will play catch up?
By now you've probably heard that you can complete the whole of Far Cry 5's campaign with your best bud, which is excellent news. The not-so-excellent news however is that only one of you can keep your progress. Talk about a bummer.
Translation from a German video confirmed that only one player could keep their progress. The video is based on the information the site was given at E3. And while it's not confirmed by Ubisoft as of yet, Redditors have spoken up about this, calling it a deal breaker; I wouldn't want to go through the whole game with a friend, only to find out that I actually haven't completed the game at all on my save.
If this video is bang on the money (and if it was translated correctly), it'll probably mean that only the host gets to make story progression, while the other player will need to replay missions in order to catch up. Thinking about it, it makes logical sense, as you're dropping into their world, so why would you make progress on your save? Regardless, it sucks for the other player. When I heard that you could play through the campaign with a friend, I thought that you'd make the progress, but apparently not.
This video isn't from Ubisoft so it's not an official source, however it is based on what they were told at E3, so it is pretty credible. Until we hear more from Ubisoft on the matter, it's advised to wait for confirmation.
