The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild will be Nintendo's final Wii U game
New Zelda will be see Wii U out.
Nintendo has confirmed that they will no longer be working on any first-party titles for the console, and have now shifted their focus completely onto supporting the upcoming Nintendo Switch.
Breath of the Wild has been one of the main attractions of the Wii U for many fans, so releasing the game as a swansong for the console seems like a fitting tribute from Nintendo.
"From a first-party standpoint, there’s no new development coming after the launch of the legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime said to Polygon.
"We really are at the end of life for Wii U."
Wii U went on sale in 2012 and sold over 13 million units worldwide during its short time on the market.
