A New Legend Of Zelda Game Is Already In Development
Eiji Aonuma, The Legend Of Zelda series producer, has confirmed that his team has begun work on a new entry for the beloved franchise. According to Game Informer, Aonuma shared this update in the new BOTW artbook called Master Works. Just give me a minute to process this awesome news.
Not much is known about it at this moment in time, aside from a new Zelda game is in development. We don't even know what platform it's on. Breath Of The Wild began development straight after Skyward Sword's release way back in 2011, so it looks like Nintendo is doing the same again for this mystery new entry.
Aonuma has stated that open world Zelda is likely here to stay, but that the handheld Zelda team who gave us the wonderful A Link Between Worlds remains separate and could stay 2D even on the Switch.
What would you like to see in this new addition to the Zelda series? Personally I'd like it to build on Breath Of The Wild, keeping the side quests, the weapon durability (it actually makes the game more interesting and more strategic for me. I don't like using the same old boring weapon over and over), and the open world-ness, but add the ability to repair weapons as well as bringing back traditional dungeons. Sorry Navi!
