EA completes acquisition of Respawn Entertainment
Titanfall joins the EA family.
Electronic Arts announced in November that it was looking to buy out Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment before the end of 2017, and it seems everything has gone to plan for the publisher.
A filing with the Securities & Exchange commission has confirmed that Respawn is owned by EA as of December 1st.
EA announced the terms of the deal back in December, including $151 million in cash and up to $164 million in equity through stock units for employees. $140 million is on the table for Respawn if "performance milestones" are met.
Respawn was founded in 2010 and has worked with EA since its earliest days, but has always remained an independent studio up until this point.
