Assassin's Creed Origins Receives Nightmare Difficulty Mode & More This Month
Time to up the ante.
First up is the biggest update of them all; a new difficulty mode called Nightmare, this means that "enemies will become more resilient to damage and more dangerous", which will make them harder to assassinate than before. Anyone up for a challenge?
A scaling option will be offered too - this will automatically scale lower level enemies to match you as you level up. No more strolling into a low level area and completely obliterating your foes! (This is optional, of course).
As well as the above, a horde mode is incoming, which you can "prove yourself in the Cyrene arena against unlimited waves of foes". Ubisoft recommends that you work your way up to level 32 before you even stick your toe in the arena... *gulp*, good luck guys. The update also expands the Heka Chest offerings by adding new Nightmare and First Civ items.
The Sekhmet Trial Of The Gods will also show its face this month, so be ready for that. New gear will be available from 12th December; up for grabs in the store will be the Gladiator Items Pack, which includes the Spaniard's armour, the Palladium shield, and Hercules' Gladius sword as well as a heavy blade (the Labrys) and a spear (Neptune's Grasp). 26th December brings the 'wacky item pack'. This will include a mount (rumoured to be a Final Fantasy Chocobo) plus 4 new weapons. Details haven't been shared yet, but the post contains a hint for what it contains. Here's the cryptic message: "this pack will be a perfect fit for the bath towel outfit". Mysterious.
