New Hitman game in development at IO Interactive
The Hitman series lives to fight another day.
Following the launch of Hitman: Game of the Year Edition, IO Interactive CEO Hakan Abrak has posted a short letter to fans on the studio's official website, shedding some light on the future of the series.
Fans have been waiting anxiously for news about Hitman since IO Interactive was dropped by Square Enix in a split earlier this year. The last game in the series was a critical success, and sold well despite releasing episodically.
IO Interactive is now an independent developer, and Abrak took time out in his blog post to "say a massive thank you, in advance, to everyone who supports us by purchasing the GOTY Edition or the Upgrade. Your support will directly help us to continue on our independent journey towards the next Hitman game and beyond."
The CEO closed out his letter to fans with a teaser about the next game in the Hitman series. "I want to let you know that we’re making great progress and we have exciting new features and some franchise firsts, which we can’t wait to tell you all about. You’ll have to wait a little longer as we don’t plan to start talking about that until some point in 2018."
Are you looking forward to seeing what Hitman has in store next? Let us know.
