Electronic Arts has revealed information of the upcoming third instalment in the UFC game series, including details on the release date, new gameplay features and this year's cover athlete.
Reigning Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will once again grace the front cover of the game, following an appearance on the UFC 2 box alongside Ronda Rousey back in 2016.
UFC 3 is confirmed to use Real Player Motion Tech, which EA promises will “deliver the most fluid and responsive motion in EA SPORTS UFC history.
"Every punch, kick, block, and counter has been recaptured and rebuilt on cutting-edge animation tech to look and feel life-like and responsive," the studio said, "delivering the most strategic, competitive fighting experience in franchise history."
New multiplayer modes are on the way to the series, including Submission Showdown, the short and intense Stand & Bang mode, and more ways to customise matches.
A new tournament mode has also been revealed, which puts the player in a bracket-style elimination contest and features fatigue that carries over between fights.
Finally, a new G.O.A.T gamemode was also revealed. This will allow players to take the fight outside of the Octagon as they progress through the UFC ranks, allowing you to choose how you interact with other fighters and build up a fanbase that is unique to you.
UFC 3 is out on February 2nd for Xbox One and PS4. You getting it?
