Assassin's Creed Origins Shows Off Its Stealthier Combat Options In New Gameplay Video
So, you wanna be sneaky?
Much like previous installments of the franchise, Assassin's Creed Origins encourages stealthy kills, and it certainly provides you the tools to execute this (I just couldn't resist).
The trailer above, aptly named "New Stealth Gameplay In Ancient Egypt", shows off the specific strategies you can use to throw your enemies the surprise party they've been dying to have. You'll already be familiar with some of them, such as the age old crouch behind and stab technique, however there are other more unique tricks that make use of the new mechanics and abilities in the game. One neat way of being a silent killer is to use a bow called the Predator Bow; you can steer your arrows through the air after you've fired them.
Take advantage of the time of day and attack guards under the cover of night time, when they're more likely to be sleepy and less alert. Sleep and poison darts make their return, and the levels are designed to encourage sneaking around. You can also use animals you've tamed to create distractions and attack enemies!
Whilst you're here, take a peep at another trailer. As the name suggests, Assassin's Creed Origins is an origins story. Enter Bayek, the last of the Medjay; Bayek has a sworn duty to protect which means a lot of people have to die.
I personally love this trailer, it's well made, well timed, and I'm jealous of the talent behind it. The visuals are utterly stunning, there's plenty of slicing and dicing, and of course a fistful of action; I can't wait to see some gameplay!
Will you be taking on the role of Bayek? Chime in below!
