The Commodore 64 is returning with new Mini version
Retro consoles are on the up.
Retro gamers, rejoice! Retro Games Limited has announced that The Commodore 64 will returning with a scaled-down new version.
The C64 Mini is next in line for what seems like a retro revival, following in the footsteps on Nintendo's recent Classic Mini SNES. The console supports save states, features HDMI output with two USB ports, and comes pre-loaded with a selection of 64 different games (which you can view now on the official website).
"A timeless classic is being given a new lease of life with the launch of the C64 Mini. It’s 1982 and a new home computer graces the scene. Out goes the silent black and white experience and in with 64KB of RAM, colour graphics, and synthesizer sound. Roll forward 35 years and kick nostalgia into overdrive with the release of THEC64 MINI. A tiny but perfectly formed 50% scale replica of this much loved machine."
Retro Games Limited told gamers to expect the C64 Mini on the market in early 2018, with a "full sized, fully working" version of the console planned for late next year.
