Monolith To Release Shadow Of War DLC Character To Honour Developer Who Passed Away
Gone but never forgotten.
During Shadow Of War's production, the game's executive producer Mike 'Forthog' Fogey passed away, however his spirit will be kept alive in game as Forthog Orc-Slayer. If you'd kindly avert your eyes to the above video, you'll see him saving Talion from an orc, no less. The trailer then shows him tearing his way through enemies, and ends with a message from the development team:
"Mike 'Forthog' Forgey was our Executive Producer and great friend here at Monolith. We lost Mike to cancer during the development of Shadow Of War and we want to remember and honour him with a little bit of immortality in Mordor. WB Games will donate $3.50 of every Forthog Orc Slayer purchase to the Forgey family through December 31st 2019".
This applies to sales made in the US, "excluding purchases made from AL, HI, IL, MA, MS, and SC"; they will not be tax deductible. While the trailer doesn't state how much Forthog will cost, his in-game function will be to show up occasionally and save you from those pesky orcs. Shadow Of War will feature several characters who can fight alongside you, so Forthog will fit snugly into the bunch.
Will you be welcoming Forthog Orc-Slayer with open arms? Let us know!
