Relive your childhood once again!
You've probably already heard the news; Nintendo has officially announced the SNES Classic. Back in April
there were rumours about such a glorious console, and it turns out that those said rumours were spot on! My childhood senses are tingling. Production of the NES Classic ended in April, disappointing many NES fans who never got the chance to grab one for themselves, however you now have a second chance to relive your childhood!
The fun sized SNES Classic contains 21 preinstalled classic games, take a gander at them below:
- Contra 3: The Alien Wars
- Donkey Kong Country
- Final Fantasy 3
- Kirby Super Star
- Kirby's Dream Course
- The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
- Mega Man X
- Secret Of Mana
- Star Fox
- Star Fox 2
- Super Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting
- Super Castlevania IV
- Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
- Super Mario Kart
- Super Mario RPG: Legend Of The Seven Stars
- Super Mario World
- Super Metroid
- Super Punch-Out!!
- Yoshi's Island
Just like the NES Classic, this rendition can be easily plugged into any HDTV using the supplied HDMI cable.
"And for the first time, players who pick up the system can enjoy the intergalactic adventure Star Fox 2, the sequel to the original Star Fox game that was created during the Super NES era but never released... anywhere!" said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America's Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. To access Star Fox 2 however, you'll need to beat the first level of Star Fox.
There will be more SNES Classic units than the NES Classic, but you will have to get a wiggle on regardless.
"We aren't providing specific numbers, but we will produce significantly more units of Super NES Classic Edition than we did of the NES Classic Edition" stated
Nintendo. "Super NES Classic Edition is currently planned to ship from 29th September until the end of calendar year 2017. At this time, we have nothing to announce regarding any possible shipments beyond this year".
This little box of childhood games will release on 29th, let us know if it tickles your fancy in the comments below!
