It's here... it's finally here. No longer do you have to worry about losing your games because your hardware bit the dust, because on the Nintendo Switch your eShop purchases will be linked to your account and not the Switch itself.
The Nintendo Switch will use the very same Nintendo account you're using on your Wii U / 3DS, so there's no need to make a new one. NintendoEverything
managed to get a closer look at the screen that's in the tweet below, which confirms that your eShop purchases are tied to your account.
This is what the bottom paragraph says
: "Your Nintendo Account contains your Nintendo eShop purchase history and current balance. By re-linking your Nintendo Account after initializing the console, it will be possible to redownload any software or DLC using that account. (Software that has been discontinued may not be available to redownload in some cases)"
If you need to reinitialise your console, you'll be able to redownload the content you bought, therefore reinforcing that what you buy from the eShop is not tied to your console.
This is great news for Nintendo fans, who are no longer tied down to the console they bought! It's a shame Nintendo took so long to implement this, but it's finally here for all to enjoy. How long have you been waiting for this to happen? Let us know!
