Sony reveals PlayStation 4 Pro, coming this November
Pre-order today at GameSeek.
Sony has revealed that the PlayStation Neo, now called the PS4 Pro, will be releasing this November.
PlayStation 4 Pro upgrades the PS4 with a faster processor, better graphics, and support for 4K resolution, and will be sold alongside PlayStation 4 - it will not be a direct replacement, and new games will run on both versions of the PS4.
"PS4 Pro is not intended to blur the line between console generations," said Sony's Mark Cerny at last night's presentation. "Instead, the vision is to take the PS4 experience to extraordinary new levels."
Sony showed off 4K game footage from the new Spider-Man game and Deus Ex, noting that the Pro was able to enhance the experience of these games that were originally designed for the PS4 but drawing out greater detail.
Cerny went on to say that upcoming games will be taking full advantage of Pro's enhanced power, noting that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, Battlefield 1 and Mass Effect: Andromeda will be pushed even further thanks to the new console's increased performance.
Developers will be able to take advantage of PS4 Pro by increasing game frame-rates and crispness. The console will improve how the PlayStation VR experience works, and apps like YouTube and Netflix are bringing out updates designed to take advantage of PS4 Pro.
We're taking PlayStation 4 Pre-orders now! Just 345.99 at GameSeek.
