Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare blocks SharePlay support on PS4
Activision censors the entire game on SharePlay.
PlayStation 4 owners may be a bit upset to find that they won't be able to use Sony's game-sharing SharePlay feature with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.
According to a report on GameSpot, the title currently censors any and all gameplay shared from the host's console to their gaming guest, meaning that none of the campaign or multiplayer is playable using the Sharing feature.
SharePlay allows PlayStation 4 owners to create and host sessions on games they own, allowing their friends who don't yet own a copy of the game to join in and experience the title before buying.
Sony have long stated that SharePlay will be available on all PS4 titles, but it appears Activision has found a sneaky workaround...
SharePlay features a 'censor' option which allows the developer to prevent spoilers from being broadcast to the guest user's console when playing the game. Activision however has decided to stretch the censorship across the entirety of Advanced Warfare.
Some users are also reporting that the game is blocked on Steam Family Share too, indicating that Activision are wanting gamers to buy before they try.
Both Activision and Sony refused to comment when contacted by GameSpot.
