BioShock is a revolution in the shooter genre that will forever change the expectations for the FPS. Going beyond "run and gun corridors," "monster-closet AIs" and static worlds, BioShock creates a living, unique and unpredictable FPS experience. BioShock is the Shooter 2.0.

After your plane crashes into icy uncharted waters, you discover a rusted bathysphere and descend into Rapture, a city hidden beneath the sea. Constructed as an idealistic society for a hand picked group of scientists, artists and industrialists, the idealism is no more. Now the city is littered with corpses, wildly powerful guardians roam the corridors as little girls loot the dead, and genetically mutated citizens ambush you at every turn.

It may be late arriving on PS3, but this is an Excellent FPS
Gameplay - Very varied, and gives the player options. This is no just run and gun game. Use stealth to attack enemies, or just simply go in all guns blazing, its up to you. The use of ’plasmids’ (upgradable powers like ice or fire, telekinetic etc..) allow the player to find different ingenuis ways to dispose of enemies. The story is linear, but the environment is free-roaming (rarely seen in FPS). ***** Graphics and Sound - At first the game feels like ’TimeSplitters’ (ie: a bit cartoony), but don’t be fooled, as visually the game is very impressive. Sound wise its also exceptional - hearing the Big Daddy’s bassy moans as they slowly approach is quite nerve-wracking!. Suitable for the kids? - No. The game carries a BBFC 18 certificate, and is quite blood thirsty, and and contains infrequent strong bad language.
