Based on the acclaimed ’Street Fighter II Turbo’ system, Hyper Street Fighter II features all the different versions of each character ever to appear in a Street Fighter II title and places them in one game. This perfect reproduction of the legendary fighting game will appeal not only to those who experienced the huge phenomenon that was 2D beat ’em ups during the late 1980s and 1990s, but also young players who have never played Street Fighter II before.

While Hyper Street Fighter II utilises the character sprites and sound samples found in Super Street Fighter II Turbo, each character’s actions are faithfully replicated from each specific Street Fighter game. For example, you could have Ken from the original Street Fighter II, before his dragon punch had its additional reach and his hurricane kick performed multiple hits up against Ken from Street Fighter II Turbo. It’s going to be an epic battle through the Street Fighter universe to find out once and for all who is the ultimate warrior.

Features

Game modes include Champion Edition, Turbo, Super, Super Turbo and World Warriors. Icons will appear on screen in place of the Super Turbo super meter, denoting which version of a character you’ve selected. In addition to the fighting itself, Hyper Street Fighter II will also feature a gallery mode, which will contain artwork, opening and ending sequences from all the games and credits for the various instalments.

Hyper Street Fighter II, will include a bonus film - Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. This feature length anime movie sees Guile, Chun-Li, Ken and Ryu fighting side by side to defeat the infamous Shadowland organisation led by master criminal Bison

I want to the answer the questions 2 reviewers have.To do Dhalsim’s teleport you do the dragon punch movement and press triple punch or triple kick.One goes halfway across the screen and the other goes the whole way across.The same with akuma or gouki. To unlock akuma put the cursor on ryu,Hawk,Guile,Cammy and Ryu again.Each one for about five seconds.Then holding the start button press triple punch immediately still holding the start button.A black shadow will appear on successful selection of Akuma. Incidentally you can fight akuma instead of Bison if you get there with 4 perfects and don’t lose a round or by having two player games and beating everybody perfect.He is very,very,very,very difficult. I would recommend capcom classics collection 2 with super street fighter 2 turbo again apparently very difficult and it is easier to have akuma instead of Bison.Also I believe you can keep continuing after losing to Akuma.I believe this is not possible in Hyper because when I try to continue I get Bison instead again.I think unlocking akuma will be unchanged in this edition. Now,I give the game 4/5 because I wanted to be able to play each version of the game separately.I love the difficulty because you can play this game for years.It is just like being in the arcade.Enjoy!!

The game is fantastic, it brings to life 5 of the most acclaimed street fighter action games, all in one hit, however, the game lacks potential, for example, if you pick "champion edition" mode, your character will stay in that mode, whereas the CPU stays as "super turbo" mode. Also, Akuma (Gouki) is in the instruction manual, however not in the game, if he is a secret character, he shouldn’t be as he is one of the street fighter classic characters.
