Star Wars Battlefront is an intense open-ended multiplayer action game set in the Star Wars universe that will put fans and gamers in the heat of the action as they re-live all of the epic battles from the classic and prequel eras of the Star Wars universe.

Both console and PC players will be able to participate in the most memorable Star Wars battles set in over 15 environments across 10 diverse planets including Hoth, Geonosis, Yavin, Tatooine and Naboo. Players will be able to select one of over 20 different unit types from four factions: Rebel Alliance, Galactic Empire, Republic Clone Army and Separatist Battle Droids. Each unit will have specialized abilities and the freedom to use ground-based turrets found on the battlefront as well as over 15 different ground and air vehicles including the AT-ST, X-wing and speeder bike. Players will need to work together with their teammates to secure enemy command posts in an attempt to take over the galaxy planet-by-planet.


Features

Intense open-ended multiplayer action set in the Star Wars universe - up to 32 console player (up to 64 on PC) online/LAN games. Work as a team to secure enemy command posts in order to defeat the opposition and gain control of the galaxy.

Battle in numerous different ways using a variety of Star Wars weaponry - including Blaster Rifles, Rocket Launchers and Thermal Detonators, in addition to ground-based Turret Guns that can be manned and used to defend command posts.

Pilot over 15 diverse ground and air vehicles - including the AT-ST, X-Wing, and speeder bike, as well as the massive Republic Gunship that can hold up to five different soldiers.

Select one of over 20 different soldier types from four factions - Rebel Alliance, Galactic Empire, Republic Clone Army and Separatist Battle Droids. Soldier types include standard infantry, scouts, heavy weapons and pilots - each will have their own unique abilities.

Set up battles in over 15 environments and 10 diverse planets - from the classic Trilogy and Clone Wars eras including Hoth, Geonosis, Yavin, Tatooine and Naboo.

Unique "Conquest mode" offers innovative and strategic multiplayer action - Players can earn special "bonus" abilities and compete with opponents online by conquering the galaxy planet-by-planet.

A variety of single player modes - offer compelling off-line play including two campaigns, the ability to give commands to AI teammates and the opportunity to take over the galaxy using each of the four factions.

Supports voice chat via compatible headsets (PS2, Xbox and PC).

Reviewed by: Deano from UK A good game, but the sequels better! This was great when it first came out, with its action packed battles, excellent graphics and music, and is great in multi player. However, i’d have to recommend the superior Battlefront II, as its basically the same as this one, but loads better. Reviewed by: master lilley from lincoln,uk best out of star wars even though i have not played the full game, it looks and feels wonderful on a demo i got, i am definitely giving this a try!!!
