Taking place two years after Yuna’s fateful journey to defeat Sin, the once chaotic world of Spira has gone through a massive transformation, entering a period of "Eternal Calm". The people of Spira now shun the teachings of Yevon and have opened their arms to former foes, the Al Bhed and the use of machina. The Machine Faction aims to propagate the use of machina in Spira, going as far as renaming "machina" to "machines" to remove the stigma. However, even with the peaceful life they now lived, there is emptiness in Yuna’s heart that is keeping her from moving on as the others have.

One day, Yuna obtains a mystical sphere that contains imagery of what might be the Blitzball player she thought was gone forever. Although Yuna isn’t certain that it is him or if he is even alive, she’s driven to seek him out. Yuna needs closure to their unexpected parting, even if only to find that she will never see him again. So begins her journey, this is Yuna’s story.

While Final Fantasy X-2 is a sequel it is in many ways a new game. Incorporating several new elements to gameplay, this title can be considered a new methodology to the Final Fantasy franchise. Keeping true to the series tradition, Final Fantasy X-2 has advanced gaming to new levels and is set to be another landmark title for Square.

Main characters
Yuna, age: 19
After defeating Sin, she was unexpectedly separated from Tidus, who she had grown to love. When she obtains a sphere, which contains imagery of what looks like her lost love, in hopes of getting closure on her relationship with Tidus, she sets out on a journey to obtain more spheres. Her time with Rikku and the others aboard the Celsius has changed her, she now chooses paths that will lead to her goals.

Rikku, age: 17
Still the enthusiastic teenager, Rikku has adjusted to life after being a Guardian for her cousin Yuna in the mission to defeat Sin. As a result, she is allowing herself to get caught up in the spirit of the adventure with her fellow sphere hunters, the Gullwings.

Paine, age: 18
Although she is young, Paine has been through a lot in her life. Rarely speaking of the past, she tends to keep to herself and is a bit put off by Yuna and Rikku’s adolescent behavior.

Leblanc, age: no one knows the real one
Head of the largest organization of sphere hunters in Spira. Despite her line of work, she thinks considers herself extremely classy.

Nooj, age: 21
Having lost his right arm and leg in the war against Sin, they are now made of machina. He is the leader of the Youth League, but has a shady past.

Gippal, age: 18
Leader of the Machine Faction, a group comprised mostly of Al Bhed that seeks to unify Spira. He’s a cool guy, the type everyone wants to get to know, atypical for someone in his position.

Baralai, age: 20
Leader of the New Yevon political party. He has history with Gippal and Nooj. While he is quite cordial, his secretive nature makes him seem distant at times.

I did not like this game has it had no FF fell to it and the storyline was S***. I think FF X-2 was a really let down. the dress sphere was the worst part of it. The story made the game bad but the dress sphere made it s***. if you like FF i would not buy it

alright. i’m a massive massive final fantasy fan. i mean huge. i liked X i thought it was a decent installment in the series for sure. when i heard about x-2 i was a little unsure of what to make of it. after playing it through unfortunatly i do have to say that behind all the graphics ang ’glam’ its just a cash in on the popular X which is such a shame as it could have been so so so much more. its enjoyable for sure. just dont go expecting a groundbraking title.

The next best thing after X...impossible to choose between the two
Final Fantasy X-2 is the next best thing after X. I have a hard time choosing to be honest. There are a few different things in this game that I like better then X. For example the levelling up. In X you have a sphere grid, which you must work your way through to make yourself stronger and it is ridiculous most of the time. Whereas X-2 levels you up ’respectively’ as my friend puts it. It levels you when you gain more experience throughout the game. The music, graphics, battles, storyline and voice-overs are all well-done. The "Real Emotion" concert at the beginning tells you that this is going to be a great experience. The dreams and performances Yuna has are brilliant. The dresspheres are excellent, with a choice of gunner, thief, warrior, songstress, white mage, black mage etc. The first three being Yuna’s, Rikku’s and Paine’s default garments. It’s side missions are fun and well-done. If you want to see the perfect ending, you will have to get 100%. Missing out on even 0.2% will cause you to receive an ending without, "him". So enjoy everyone. Yunie Tidus
