Solid, smooth and packed with features.

The USB connection works fine, windows installed the drivers from the included CD. The saitek software enables you to emulate mouse and keyboard, but really this is the means that the profiles apply themselves. This is how the profile overlays onto system to provide that all important setup for each game. The saitek software is great. You have 3 ’modes’ which you can toggle using a rotating wheel at the top of the stick. This effectively triples the number of buttons you have, then you have a pinky trigger at base of the grip which acts like a shift key, so this doubles your already tripled number of options/command/buttons. One thing you never see talked about on the internet much is the ability to ’print out’ the profiles from within the saitek software. Two of which show a nice isometric diagram of the stick on one page, the throttle on another both with labels and the descriptions. The 3rd page is a table which specifies the remainder of commands not shown on the previous 2 pages. When you download profiles this is really helpful in familarising yourself with a config from someone else. Then you have the (seemingly surplus) Led display on the throttle, which sure has a clock & timer on it, but I’ve found it most useful for identifying what the profile is doing when you press button 02 (for example) another step to helping you learn what each profile is doing. Most useful! The control stick has a twist ability for rotating/rudder and I like this. Others may not and for them you can lock the stick by way of a little plastic lock. The throttle is a little stiffer, but you have a tenstion adjustment on that to losen it up. There isn’t one on the flight stick though which would have been nice but the stick is just right tension-wise. There is no shortage of buttons on this thing, and in game the response to your movements are amazingly responsive. There is a little support you can move up or down on the grip for your hand to rest on which when adjusted properly is really neat feature and feels really comfortable. A must get for any flight-sim fan.
