The USB connector for this device is hidden away when not in general use with a protective top insert which blends in with the rest of the devices casing and when you need to connect the MD-009 to a USB port you only need to remove this top and connect it to you computer system. This device will work on either USB 1.1 or 2.0 although you will experience a fast data transfer rate using a USB 2.0 port due to the hi-speed nature of USB 2.0 compared to USB 1.1.
