The 56 K GameCube Modem adapter is purely designed for online gaming. The adapter is easily installed, simply snapping into serial port 1 on the underside of the console and plugging into a standard phone line.

The adapter is only intended for use in the following countries: United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Netherlands, Greece, Spain, Denmark, Germany, Finland, France, Belgium, Portugal and Luxembourg.

What you get when you buy a Modem Adapter:
One Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter
One RJ11-type Phone cord (approximately 12 feet)
Instruction and precautions manuals

What else you need before using a Modem Adapter:
A Nintendo GameCube game designed for online game play.
A phone jack adapter suitable for connecting an RJ11-type plug into a standard BT phone socket (shown above).
A valid account with an Internet Service Provider (ISP).

What you will need to know before you buy:
Games that are programmed for online gaming are designed to access the gaming site only. You will not be able to use these games or the Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter to surf the internet.
You will need to have an existing dial up internet service provider in order to use the Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter to play games online. Please note: Some service providers do not allow outside software to access their services without the use of a special login tool.
Not all games sold for the Nintendo GameCube have online capabilities. The accessories window on the back of the software packaging will show if a game is compatible with the Modem Adapter and online game play.
