Reviewed by: DB from UK Mario Kart...Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii This latest installment of Nintendo’s racing franchise is easily the best yet. The Wii remote is perfect (provided you are using the wheel accessory), and this version features loads of unlockable characters and extra karts/bikes that add replay value. Great on your own, and even better with family and friends. Features brand new tracks made for the Wii and also numerous ’retro’ tracks taken from the SNES, N64, Gameboy advance, DS and GameCube versions too.
Reviewed by: STEPHEN MARCUS OGLEY from BRADFORD Here Wii Go Again...! Mario Kart Wii has finally arrived. It was released here only 1 day after its release in Japan, and we have it a full 2 weeks before our American friends! What we have is the usual quality release from Nintendo that we all expect. The legendary Mario creator Mr Miyamoto has fashioned a game that is exciting, challenging, charming and colourful and it’s unbelievably playable. This is mainly thanks to the use of the Wii wheel into which the Wii remote fits. You simply turn the wheel as if you were driving a kart. The result is nothing short of brilliant. The sharper the turn of the wheel, the more your kart will turn. Simple. The graphics are great, the sounds are recognisable from Nintendo past and present and the gameplay is simply wonderful. I have played this every evening for an hour or so since its release. It does that. It keeps you coming back. You really will want to win all the cups and you will finish the game. If you like Mario’s world and you like Mario Kart’s from the past then don’t hesitate to buy this game. If you haven’t played Mario Kart before, buy this anyway because it deserves a place in any serious games collection. A classic. |
